New Araabmuzik – “After Hours”
Yet another Fun Fun Fun Fest act I’m incredibly psyched for (it’s only 8 days away, y’all!), Araabmuzik continues to drop new tracks via the Internet to the masses. Play this one loudly.

Dan Deacon has announced a new album after a long, long wait. America will drop on August 28th. This track, titled “Lots” is more of the same from the spazzy high-tech melodist. And that is a wonderful thing. Take a listen and download below, courtesy of Domino Records.
America Tracklist:
01 Guilford Avenue Bridge
02 True Thrush
03 Lots
04 Prettyboy
05 Crash Jam
06 USA I: Is a Monster
07 USA II: The Great American Desert
08 USA III: Rail
09 USA IV: Manifest
Enjoy this post, gamers, because unless we’re talking about DOOM, Goldeneye, or Grand Theft Auto (or at least the soundtracks), this will likely be the first and last time you see me posting about video games. And really the only reason it’s happening it today is because it involves the continuing, inevitable, in-progress rise to domination of Compton MC Kendrick Lamar. He’s dropped another excellent track, available on the soundtrack to the game Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, which will be released tomorrow, May 22. Download below and enjoy.
Available for download now at the Converse blog, Gorillaz’ highly anticipated collaborative track with James Murphy (formerly of LCD Soundsystem, of course) and Andre 3000 (sort-of formerly of Outkast, obviously) is an upbeat dance fest featuring a rapid-fire verse from Andre Benjamin near the end. Listen loudly, download quickly, and repeat incessantly.
Once every three months I list the best of what I heard in albums/songs/remixes for the quarter. I do this to personally keep up with all the awesome music I hear, as it ultimately helps me at the end of the year when I do my overall listing for the previous twelve months. I also do it to introduce you cool cats to tunes you may have missed independently.
As far as emerging artists go, Star Slinger has had the Culture Greyhound bump ever since he dropped Volume 1 last year. Of course, the UK producer’s sound has evolved in that time, and he’s gone from banging remixes to his own original material. Today we hear the first finished product he can call his very own, a track called “Dumbin'” available from Green Label Sounds. Listen and download below, and if you’re in ATX, be sure to check out Star Slinger at Beauty Bar on October 12.
If, for some reason, you missed out on Castlemania this year, you should get on that, because Dwyer and Co. are releasing another LP for 2011 on November 15, Carrion Crawler/The Dream. Just dropped today, here is the semi-title track for the album, and it rocks hard, as expected. I anticipate hearing this track, as well as many other new ones, at this year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest.
